Born in Toronto’s Regent Park neighbourhood, Dave was first brought into a boxing gym at age 5 by family friend and childhood mentor, Mark Leduc. Mark, who had a successful amateur career fighting out of Kingston Youth Boxing Club would play an integral part of Dave’s love for boxing and his eventual desire to open WSBC to celebrate Mark’s accomplishments and that of all of Canada’s amateur boxers.

Dave boxed competitively as a youth in Kingston before moving back to Toronto where he trained in various disciplines and learned from some of the best coaches at Stockyards Boxing, Evolução Thai and Montrait’s. Dave competed as recently as 2023. He holds a Boxing Ontario Level 1 certification and will be teaching kids and boxing fundamentals classes.

Dave is a devoted father, creative artist and photographer.
